Environmental Racism causes real problems
From floods to pollution to personal health, social concepts of race interact with environmental factors to impact populations. The environments where people live, work, and play are often influenced by how they are perceived racially, as well as historical and political factors. In America, communities still struggle with segregation and we find that pollution is often "segregated" to low-income and minority communities, too. This is a complex issue that affects many communities in a myriad of ways.
